Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is in the midst of a career resurgence and created some impressive history during Sunday afternoon’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
Ryan exceeded 200 yards for the 46th-consecutive game Sunday. That’s a new NFL record, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Michael Gehlken.
Ryan hasn’t been as explosive as some might have expected against a Chargers defense that entered the weekend allowing 280 passing yards per game. Ryan has only 216 yards, one touchdown and one interception as the Falcons are trying to stave off the pesky Chargers.
Julio Jones has also been a direct beneficiary of Ryan’s career year. He’s torn it up throughout the entire season and has been arguably the league’s best receiver. Jones has seven receptions for 139 yards against San Diego.
