Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
Jones is dealing with a knee injury and was expected to participate in the session, but he was held out instead. It’s unclear if he suffered a setback with his knee or if the Falcons are simply taking extra caution with their star wideout.
The Falcons will play the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, which means Jones is in line for a tough and physical matchup against Richard Sherman. Sherman is one of the league’s best and most physical defensive backs in the NFL.
There’s not much chance of Jones missing the matchup, but if the knee injury is worse than feared and he’s not healthy enough to play Sherman at his best, that would be huge for both teams. Fellow receiver Mohamed Sanu, who is dealing with an elbow injury, practiced in full on Wednesday.
