Still not a believer in the Atlanta Falcons? Don’t worry you have company.
There’s something about the Falcons that tempts you to not hop on the bandwagon.
Atlanta is a 3-point home favorite against the Green Bay Packers. Don’t be surprised if the Packers cover that and come away with the win.
Here are three reasons why All 22 believes the Packers will beat the Falcons on Sunday:
Aaron Rodgers has a history of lighting up the Falcons
Rodgers has won his last three games against Matt Ryan and the Falcons. In two of those contests, Green Bay has put up at least 40 points.
Rodger’s detractors aren’t as loud as they were at the beginning of the season. The quarterback’s numbers are down but saying he’s lost a step is premature.
The Packers star is averaging 239 yards per game and has a 91.7 passer rating.
Same ol’ Falcons
Remember when the Falcons started the season 6-1 in 2015 and then proceeded to lose six straight?
Atlanta’s season spiraled out of control last year as the team finished a mediocre 8-8.
Déjà vu is starting to trickle in the minds of Atlanta fans. After starting the season 4-1, the Falcons are in the midst of a two-game losing streak with the Packers coming to town.
Players on the roster can’t help but think about last season’s turbulent ending. However, Falcons coach Dan Quinn is adamant things will be different this time around.
“We talked a lot about that in the offseason and our team is so different from our 2015 to our 2016 team,” Quinn said, per the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “We are equipped. We know the adversity that comes. We are a resilient group. I can’t emphasize enough how different the club is from last year to this year (with) our mindset and the way that we attack.”
The old saying goes, defense wins championships. Week 8 won’t crown a champion by any means. Although, the team with the best defense has an advantage.
Green Bay quietly ranks No. 4 in the league in total defense. Atlanta ranks near the bottom at No. 26.
All 22 doesn’t expect much defense in this game. Any defensive resistance could go a long way in what forecasts to be a shootout in Atlanta.
The Falcons are on upset alert!
