The Atlanta Falcons received unfortunate news regarding rookie safety Keanu Neal.
A MRI revealed Neal, who exited Thursday night’s game in the second quarter, must undergo a minor procedure to repair damage to his right knee. He will miss approximately 3-to-4 weeks, the team announced Friday. The scope will be done Monday.
Neal injured his knee while trying to tackle Dolphins tailback Arian Foster in the open field. Neal missed the tackle and didn’t appear to hurt himself, but was slow to get up and was able to walk off the field under his own power.
The Falcons drafted Neal with the 17th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Florida.
