Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will likely be able to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets despite a shoulder injury.
Flacco missed some practice time this week and with Geno Smith taking over for the Jets, some thought that the Ravens might also need to turn to a different quarterback, though for a much different reason. But Flacco is expected to start, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The Ravens are 3-3 on the season and are playing in a tough AFC North division. The Jets are 1-5, prompting the switch from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Smith at the quarterback position.
Flacco hasn’t been great this season, but he’s been his typical average self. He’s completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 1,589 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions. That includes completing 164 of 264 passes this season. Even a Flacco at less than 100 percent is preferable for the Ravens to turning to a backup, it seems.
