There is some good news coming out of Baltimore regarding the tight end position.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters that both tight ends, Dennis Pitta and Maxx Williams, will be back before the team’s regular season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
Pitta hasn’t appeared in a game since September, 2014, due to hip problems. He injured a finger earlier this month after getting into a fight with a teammate and hasn’t been available for practice.
Williams has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury. The second-year pro started seven games in his rookie season.
The availability of both tight ends is vital considering the Ravens lost starter Benjamin Watson to a torn Achilles last week. Crockett Gillmore replaced Watson in Baltimore’s starting lineup.
