When the Buffalo Bills take the field on Sunday LeSean McCoy will likely be in street clothes.
McCoy’ playing status for Week 8 against the New England Patriots took a hit on Thursday after the running back missed his second day of practice.
Rex Ryan will probably have to face New England without his starting running back based on how the week is playing out. Buffalo is regretting their aggressive approach with McCoy. Despite reports that the running back would miss Week 7, the Bills decided to play the eighth-year running back against the Miami Dolphins. McCoy’s hamstring flared up on him following just eight carries and didn’t finish the game.
Now he’s on the mend.
If McCoy isn’t able to play, which seems very feasible, Mike Gillislee will start at running back. Gillislee is a tremendous drop off from McCoy. McCoy’s absence will hinder Buffalo’s explosiveness on offense and against the Patriots that’s is a problem no team wants to have.
