The Chicago Bears moved quickly to replace Pro Bowl kicker Robbie Gould, cut Sunday night after 11 years with the team.
Chicago is expected to sign Connor Barth on Monday, a move first reported by Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Barth, 30, played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 and made 23 of 28 field goals. He was in preseason camp with the Saints but got cut after he was beat out for the job by Kai Forbath.
Barth will have big shoes to fill, as Gould is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 1,207 points.
