New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is notoriously tight-lipped with the media. However, when he does open up, it’s almost always about some historical element of the game or to pay the Patriots’ upcoming opponent a compliment, as was the case this week when he praised Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green.
Belichick had nothing but good things to say about the Pro Bowl wideout while on a conference call with the Bengals media on Wednesday.
Green had his own conference call on Wednesday afternoon and he was asked about Belichick’s compliment. And the superstar wide receiver had this to say:
"It's an honor. I want to be a complete receiver." AJ Green on Belichick compliments

On occasion, Belichick has been known to pump his opponent’s tires. It’s just a part of the Patriot way.
However, given Green’s status as one of the most dominant wide receivers in the league, there’s no questioning the sincerity of Belichick’s remarks. The Bengals and Patriots square off Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. EDT.
