Sometimes, when you’re Andy Dalton, all you need to do is throw the football really hard and really high. Hail Mary plays are inadvisable unless absolutely necessary, but with the first half set to expire and little chance of a whole-field interception return, the Bengals went for it.
And got it.
That’s Green in between a whole bunch of Browns players catching a pass that looked like it might be intercepted, then looked like it would for-sure end up incomplete. But never say never with Green, who officially has a 48-yard touchdown reception from the play.
The game went to the half with Cincinnati leading Cleveland, 21-10. Green, one of the top receivers in the NFL at this point, has caught six passes for 106 yards and the touchdown above in just one half of play. Dalton has thrown two touchdown passes, with Brandon LaFell catching the other one earlier in the game.
