The Cleveland Browns are winless on the season and with the NFL trade deadline fast approaching, there is plenty of talk about the team moving their top players. Most of those rumors have surrounded All-Pro left tackle Joe Thomas.
But the Browns do have another star on their roster, even if they can’t manage a win: cornerback Joe Haden. Provided Haden shows that he is healthy, because injuries are the only real downside to him, there could be serious trade talks, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Haden is dealing with a groin injury currently and has missed significant playing time over the course of his career. But he’s legitimately one of the best cover corners in the league and would be a big boost to teams making a playoff push in the second half of the season.
A first-round pick in 2010, Haden is in the third year of a six-year, $74.678 million contract. He has 348 tackles, 18 interceptions and 94 pass deflections since entering the league. At 27 years old, there is plenty to like about Haden, though he has only ever played a full 16-game season once in his career.
