Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Cedrick Thornton is looking forward to this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Thornton signed with Dallas as a free agent in the offseason after spending five years with the Eagles.
It’s also one day before his son, Cedric Jr., celebrates his birthday.
“It’s a big a game,” Thornton told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “My son’s birthday is the day after that game. He is a huge football fan and knows the history of the Cowboys-Eagles rivalry. He will be 9 on Halloween. He had been waiting on it. He wants us to be beat them. He has played the Eagles and Cowboy over 100 times on Madden. He says we come out with the victory. Hopefully, he is right.”
It’s not just a big game in the standings, it’s also a big game for bragging rights for Thornton.
“I definitely want to beat them,” Thornton said. “Any time you play against somebody you know and have history with you definitely want to beat them.”
