The Dallas Cowboys are expecting All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, according to a report from Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.
Smith was listed as questionable with a right knee injury after having to leave the game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night. However, with playoff hopes on the line, it appears Smith will be powering through.
The five-time Pro Bowl selection has already missed two games during the season with unrelated injuries and had done next to nothing in practice during the week and was expected to be a genuine game-time decision. But it appears that the stakes of the game make it so that Smith is basically refusing to sit.
Fisher’s report says that Smith “plans on playing” per an unnamed source, so that leaves some wiggle room as a story that’s subject to change. However, Fisher is one of the more respected reporters on the Cowboys beat, so you can expect Smith to be in the lineup on Sunday barring some sort of setback in the next 24 hours.
