From the looks of it, the Dallas Cowboys have solidified themselves as a top-five team in the NFL.
As we read through various Week 7 power rankings, we noticed a couple things about Dallas that were being said by NFL pundits.
- They keep moving up in the rankings.
- Quarterback controversy? Ezekiell Elliott makes that a non-issue.
NFL.com moved Dallas from No. 8 to No. 3 after the win in Green Bay. The Cowboys are breathing down the necks of the undefeated Minnesota Vikings and the second-ranked New England Patriots. Elliott Harrison has been on the Cowboys bandwagon for two weeks, but he’s really pushing Dallas today and telling internet commentators to “take that steam and go iron a Zeke Elliott Offensive Rookie of the Year T-shirt with it.”
Bleacher Report had Dallas moved into the No. 4 spot this week, and the folks at BR are looking at Dallas as a good bet in Las Vegas right now. The Cowboys have 25-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, and that could be a trendy futures bet.
SB Nation also moved Dallas into the top-five this week with a slight surge from No. 7. The Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons currently take spots in the standings ahead of the Cowboys in that particular rankings.
Yahoo Sports agreed with SB Nation and moved Dallas from No. 8 to No. 5 this week. It’s a bit of an understatement, but Yahoo labeled Dallas as “the most fascinating team in the NFL right now because of their quarterback conundrum.”
The Cowboys made their biggest jump in the USA Today rankings. Dallas started last week as a fringe top-10 team ranked at No. 10, but moved to No. 5 this week and a bye should keep them in the top-5.
