Like most rookies, Dak Prescott isn’t going anywhere too flashy during the bye week. The Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback just has a slightly different motivation for heading back home to Haughton, La.
“My family doesn’t really treat me like a celebrity so that’s kind of the whole purpose of going there,” said Prescott Wednesday, reported by Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Prescott told reporters he’s heading home to spend time with family and catch redfish. He said he turned down an overseas endorsement deal as well as a late-night TV appearance in the process.
Prescott is the rookie phenom who has led the Cowboys to a 5-1 record and a first-place spot in the NFC East. In the process, he’s created a conversation about whether he should remain the starter rather than incumbent veteran Tony Romo, who has been out with a back injury but is close to returning.
