Jerry Jones still likes to have his hands on everything involved with the Dallas Cowboys.
According to CBS DFW, on Tuesday after head coach Jason Garrett said in a press conference that linebacker Sean Lee underwent an MRI, an angry Jerry Jones cold-called 105.3 The Fan’s GBag Nation to vent. “Nobody in our organization knew that he (Lee) was getting an MRI, but the trainer,” Jones said. “I’m gonna kick his a** for not sending me a note.”
Earlier in the day while on the air with 105.3 FM The Fan Dallas, Jones was startled by questions from host Mac Engel of the Fort Worth Star Telegram about Lee’s health.
In one exchange Engel asked him Lee’s status and Jones answered, “I’m not so sure, I know … he’s the starter.” He was then asked if Lee was hurt and he answered “no” several times.
Confusion came later in the day when Garrett told the media in a press conference that Lee did, in fact, undergo an MRI. In the end Jones turned out to be right, Lee was fine.
Nothing like a little unnecessary Cowboys drama during the final week of the preseason. If nothing else, we can always count on Jones to give us a quote to entertain us in between actual issues with the team.
