The Dallas Cowboys need to improve their pass defense, and they could look close to home in the draft.
Justin Evans, a defensive back from Texas A&M, has been linked recently to the Cowboys.
“Meanwhile, Chidobe Awuzie of Colorado and Justin Evans of Texas A&M are two defensive backs quickly moving up draft boards. … I’m told Evans, who had two solid practices at the Senior Bowl before sitting out Thursday with injury, is expected to blow up the combine and put up Byron Jones type numbers. … The belief is Evans could land in the late part of Round 1 and I’ve heard his name linked with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys presently have four defensive backs up for free agency including two safeties, starter Barry Church and JJ Wilcox.”
In 2015 and 2016, Evans had 165 total tackles at Texas A&M, 99 of those were solo tackles. He also had 5 interceptions and 11 passes defended.
