Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey might be sleeping on the floor Saturday night.
Yes, Bailey will have access to a bed in the team hotel before the game with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. But, if the bed is too soft he might have to take his pillow and sleep on the ground.
“I don’t know,” Bailey told the Dallas Morning News. “The last time we were there (in Green Bay) they had the Sleep Number beds, so hopefully I can dial it in.”
Bailey is still dealing with back issues and has had to alter his routine the past couple weeks. He didn’t deal with any discomfort until Oct. 2 when he experienced discomfort from sleeping in a softer bed.
“I think that’s what triggered it or made it flare up,” said Bailey, who has never had a problem with his back before. “But obviously there was something there preexisting I didn’t know about.”
Whether it’s a firm bed or the floor, Bailey is hoping to get through this week and get even more rest during Dallas’ bye week. He said with that in mind he should be back at full strength for the Cowboys final stretch of the season.
“We’re still working through it a little bit,” Bailey said. “It’s just one of those things we have to manage until we get to the bye week. Get some rest and do some treatment to hopefully get back to 100 percent.”
