Greg Hardy hasn’t gotten a call from a NFL team, so it appears he’s giving up football altogether.
Hardy is going to pursue a mixed martial arts career, according to MMAFighting.com.
“I’m very focused and excited to start my MMA career,” Hardy said in a statement to the website. “I’m going to do this the right way, I can assure you of that.”
The defensive end has garnered interest from several promoters and has been training for some time, according to the report.
Hardy’s controversial past has played the primary role in his unemployment. Hardy was charged with domestic violence in 2014. The case eventually was dropped, but it tarnished Hardy’s reputation nonetheless. Most recently, he was arrested in September on a cocaine possession charge.
Hardy was last seen on the football field with the Dallas Cowboys last season. He recorded 6 sacks in 12 games during his lone season with Dallas.
