Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is just like the rest of us — he still doesn’t know what constitutes a catch in the NFL.
During his weekly interview on 105.3 The Fan, Jones opened his segment talking about the disputed catch by Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant in 2014, saying it “knocked the credibility out from under the way we judge what’s a catch and what’s not.”
The play came up with the Cowboys returning to Green Bay, site of the controversial play during the 2014 playoffs. The overturned catch has lived on with Cowboys fans in internet lexicon and the hashtag #DezCaughtIt still commonly shows up on social media.
“Since that play,” Jones said, as transcribed by the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t believe they’ve been able to say it in a way that any of us understands yet.”
