The NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year nominees are in, for the Dallas Cowboys it is center Travis Frederick.
He is being nominated for his work in helping to feed low-income families in North Texas. One example is for families who rely on school meals to help feed their children, Frederick works to get those families food during breaks.
Frederick is also one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL. The Cowboys selected him in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has started every single game since he has been drafted.
The last three seasons Frederick has made the Pro Bowl, was a first-team All-Pro performer in 2016.
For much of Frederick’s time with the Cowboys they’ve had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. He, along with left tackle Tyron Smith and guard Zack Martin, have created large running lanes and provided great protection for quarterbacks Tony Romo and Dak Prescott.
As the center, Frederick is the leader of that unit. He is proving to be great at looking out for the Cowboys’ skill position players, and families in need in North Texas.
