Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has seen enough of Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins to know that he likes what sees in his game.
Talib will get to see Cousins up close and personal when the Broncos travel to Washington to play against Cousins on Sunday. Cousins still doesn’t have a long-term deal in Washington, and the Broncos are a team that could use a starting quarterback. If Talib was asked by management about Cousins, he would at least give a positive review.
“He runs the show. He’s a real NFL quarterback,” Talib said, via The Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala. “There’s a difference if you really look around the league. There’s a handful of guys who run their offense to a T. He gets the ball out of his hands, he can create time in the pocket, he’s very accurate, he’ll take the checkdown when it’s there.
“He plays like a real NFL quarterback.”
That is high praise coming from a player who has been regarded as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for much of his 10 seasons in the NFL.
The Broncos will have to add at least one quarterback to their roster during the offseason. Maybe they can get a good look at their future on Sunday.
Cousins is already be asked questions about “modeling” his game after Broncos general manager John Elway.
