Broncos GM John Elway interested in Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan
Gary Kubiak’s expected retirement has ignited the rumor mill in Denver.
Broncos general manager John Elway is reportedly already looking at possible replacements at head coach.
Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph’s name is already being mentioned as Kubiak’s successor. Another candidate who is being discussed has familiar ties in Denver.
Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is a person of interest in Denver, via Joel Corry of CBS Sports.
Shanahan played an intricate role in Atlanta’s No. 2 ranked offense. Consequently, teams looking for a head coach will inquire about his services.
Denver would be a dream destination for Shanahan. His dad, Mike Shanahan, guided the Broncos to two straight Super Bowl titles after the 1998 and 1999 seasons with Elway as his QB. Elway’s connection with the Shanahan family is strong.
The reigning Super Bowl champions have plenty of uncertainty surrounding their team. It’s going to be interesting to see how everything unfolds for the Broncos.
