The prognosis for Denver Broncos left tackle Russell Okung is looking good.
Okung is on pace to play on Monday night versus the Houston Texans.
The left tackle suffered a concussion that sent him to the hospital in last week’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
Okung practiced on a limited basis on Friday and Saturday. Denver’s Monday night tilt gives the left tackle and extra day to recover for his concussion. He’s on the final stage of the NFL’s concussion protocol and the team believes the seventh-year tackle will be ready to role come Monday.
The tackle’s availability in Week 7 is of great value to the Broncos. Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus are solid pass rushers for the Texans. Okung being on the field gives quarterback Trevor Siemian a better chance at standing upright.
Wide receiver Cody Latimer (concussion) is also listed as questionable for Monday night.
DeMarcus Ware’s forearm will cause him to miss Week 7. It’ll be the fifth game that the veteran pass rusher has missed this season.
