The Denver Broncos officially ended Shane Ray’s season on Tuesday. Ray’s departure ushers in cornerback Michael Hunter.
Hunter was promoted from Denver’s practice to its active roster on, the team announced. He took Ray’s spot on the team’s 53-man roster.
The 6-foot corner appeared in six games for the New York Giants the last two years. He then participated on the New York Jets practice squad before joining the Broncos’ practice roster.
Hunter has 4 tackles in 6 career NFL games.
The cornerback entered the league in 2016 as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State University.
