It is unclear what Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson read or heard about himself, but he took to Twitter to bash those who “hate” him and said it motivates him to be even better.
“The hate about me is real I love It,” Anderson wrote. “It’s Amazing what people say about you. Say you can’t do this can’t do that this person better I enjoy people who can watch from there couch don’t know what’s going on and speak on us as players. It’s always been motivation. Thank you”
Anderson may see the flak that the team is getting during such a down year. He has been included in that, as has most of the offense. He still wants to play hard and doesn’t want to hear about how bad the Broncos have been in 2017.
In some senses, it is fair to criticize him. Anderson has 2 rushing touchdowns this season. That’s nothing. The offense has struggled to score, and that’s part of the problem.
That said, the issues have by no means been all his fault. The offensive line hasn’t played well, and it’s hard to score when you’re getting hit behind the line. The quarterback situation has been dismal, so every team comes into Denver looking to stuff the run. No one is worried about getting beat deep by Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler. That makes Anderson’s job even harder.
Despite it, he has managed to put up 858 yards this season. He is averaging over 4 yards per carry. With two games to go, he has a shot at breaking 1,000 yards this season. There is little more the team can ask from its starting back, especially because he splits snaps with Jamaal Charles and Devontae Booker.
