Denver Broncos GM John Elway reveals Gary Kubiak won’t coach Thursday night
Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak appears to be fine and healthy, but he won’t coach this week.
Broncos general manager John Elway announced that Kubiak will not coach Thursday night when the Broncos travel to San Diego for a divisional battle with the Chargers. Denver’s interim head coach will be special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.
.@johnelway: Coach Kubiak (complex migrane) will take this week off. Interim coach will be Joe DeCamillis.

The good news is Kubiak’s health doesn’t appear to be in a dire situation. Elway reported that Kubiak was heading back to the hospital as his press conference was ongoing. This appears to be merely a precaution and the short week seems to have had something to do with the team’s decision to give Kubiak the week off.
Elway didn’t give an exact timetable for when Kubiak could return to the sidelines. Elway said he expressed concern as a friend first, rather than a boss, but also seemed very encouraged that Kubiak will return hopefully next week.
“I will say this, it was scary going in,” Elway said. “But, I’m very excited coming out as far as the prognosis of Gary and his health and his coaching career.”
Fortunately for the Broncos, they might not be without their head coach for long.
