It looks like Trevor Siemian will be back in the lineup for the Denver Broncos Thursday night.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Siemian is expected to start Thursday against the San Diego Chargers after missing last week’s loss to Atlanta with a shoulder injury.
The Broncos lost their first game of the 2016 season without Siemian last week. Rookie Paxton Lynch struggled in his first career start, throwing for 223 yards, 1 touchdown and an interception in Denver’s 23-16 defeat.
Denver is hoping Siemian will help the Broncos bounce back against a Chargers team that has frequently found ways to lose games. Each of San Diego’s four losses have come by single digits and the Chargers have come up especially small in the fourth quarter.
Siemian will be back, but the Broncos will be without head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak was given the week off after he left last Sunday’s game in an ambulance because of a complex migraine issue. The expectation is Kubiak will be able to return next week, when the Broncos host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
Fortunately for Denver, it will at least have its starting quarterback under center again.
