No, you’re not about to watch a replay of Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib ripping Oakland Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree’s chain off from back on New Year’s Day.

What you’re about to watch is actual video of Talib doing it yet again in Week 12 of 2017 regular-season action and launching a pretty massive brawl between the two AFC West rivals.

At first glance, it appeared that Crabtree went well after the whistle as some sort of retribution for the last time these two were both on the field (Crabtree missed their earlier meeting). As it turns out, Crabtree may have still been pretty bothered by what happened back in January but he was probably even more livid that it had happened again.

Ultimately, things got incredibly serious incredibly fast, forcing us to take a long, hard look at Talib’s role in instigating this brawl. Both players were ejected along with Raiders guard Gabe Jackson, who will almost certainly face a suspension after shoving a ref to the ground in the melee.

Several others could face hefty fines and suspensions that could total damages into the hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions once we factor in lost game checks.

However, it’s also still a little funny simply because of how ridiculous it is — both Crabtree’s insistence on wearing the chain knowing that he’d be playing Talib and Talib’s infatuation with it. It’s horrible behavior and it’s lowest common denominator entertainment, but you can’t avert our eyes.

These two clearly need to put some headgear on and climb into a boxing ring and settle this to benefit some charity these two North Texas-born stars agree on that could benefit the respective communities they grew up in. Because until this is squashed, you can expect more of this every time these two teams meet.
