While on a conference call with Carolina Panthers reporters on Sunday, Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller made it clear who he thinks is the best player in the NFL.
According to multiple reports, he said it’s the player he helped hold down to give the Broncos their first championship since 1999, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

The Associated Press’ Steve Reed also reported that Miller said the reason he likes to needle Newton on Instagram is because he has such high regard for him as a player.
Other highlights from the call include Miller talking about how much different this Broncos team looks from last season, and that he believes they have the best secondary in the NFL.
It could be said that this summer has been the Summer of Von. He hosted “Saturday Night Live”, where he said he got “shined on” by Kanye West when he asked the rapper for his autograph. He also has a very interesting commercial for Madden ’17.
It’s time to get back to work for real for Miller and the Broncos. As he said, the team is different, especially at the quarterback. After wondering at different times whether the starter would be Peyton Manning, Brock Osweiler or Mark Sanchez, the Broncos will be led by former Northwestern quarterback Trevor Siemian.
Linebacker Danny Trevathan and others have also left, but Miller got the money he was seeking. It will be up to him, cornerback Aqib Talib and others to try to make Denver the first team to repeat since the 2003-04 New England Patriots.
