Denver Broncos wide receiver Cody Latimer is having to answer some questions he probably was not expecting.
TMZ Sports released video of fight that he and uncle got into with security at a Dayton, Ohio strip club in February, where he got pepper sprayed after slapping one of guards. The Broncos have since said they knew about the incident a long time ago.
Latimer told News 9’s Mike Klis that he was trying to break a fight up between his uncle and a bouncer, and also no police were called because they left.
On Sunday, Latimer released a personal statement on Twitter. In it he said that he told coach Vance Joseph and the Broncos about the incident soon after it happened. He also talked about some changes that he has made in his life since that day.

The Broncos selected Latimer in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In three seasons he’s played in 34 games, starting in two. He has 16 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown. Most of his impact has come on special teams.
Wide receiver is a position of strength for the Broncos. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are two of the better wide receivers in the league, but there is room for a third to step up.
Running back Devontae Booker was the Broncos’ third leading receiver with 31 catches last season.
They drafted speedy wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie in the fifth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. It will likely be between him, Jordan Taylor and Latimer to see who can step and be another dependable option at wide receiver.
