Mike McCarthy says 2016 season doesn’t matter to Packers
The Green Bay Packers had a bizarre, but successful 2016 season. However, coach Mike McCarthy said last year doesn’t matter while discussing the upcoming season on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
The Packers could gain inspiration from how they finished the 2016 season, whether McCarthy wants to reflect upon it or not. Green Bay was 4-6 and had lost four straight games in ugly fashion.
However, Aaron Rodgers put the team on his shoulders and carried Green Bay to six consecutive wins and an NFC North title. The winning ways carried into the postseason, as the Packers drubbed the Giants and upset the Cowboys before losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game.
The season didn’t end how McCarthy and the Packers would like. But the resilience shown and the effort from their franchise quarterback shouldn’t be forgotten.
