Injuries are continuing to take their toll on the Green Bay Packers.
Wide receiver Jordy Nelson, running back Aaron Jones and tight end Richard Rogers have all been ruled out for the rest of the Packers’ Saturday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Vikings held a 13-0 lead.
The Packers came into the game with injury problems. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has missed most of this season after suffering a broken collarbone in his throwing shoulder. He started Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers, but after the loss he was placed on injured reserve. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga also is out for the season with a torn right ACL, and backup tackle Jason Spriggs was carted off the field against the Vikings with a left knee injury.
The players on the field will play hard for the Packers, but it is time for the coaches to close the door on this season. In their Week 17 finale against the Detroit Lions, Green Bay likely will sit any player who is dealing with a significant injury.
