The NFL is “working toward” a solution that would involve moving the preseason finale between Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans at NRG Stadium to another venue, reports Mike Fisher for 105.3 The Fan.

Houston was in the path of devastating Hurricane Harvey over the weekend, causing mayhem and logistical nightmares for the city and its residents. More rain is expected early this week.
Ordinarily, NFL teams might be hesitant to give up home games. Seeing as it’s the preseason, and the outcome of the contest is irrelevant, there’s no real advantage to be had for either club. Furthermore, in the final preseason game, few if any starters will be on the field.
Dallas to Houston is about a four-hour bus ride, so there’s no reason the NFL and Texans shouldn’t be able to make travel accommodations.
