Brock Osweiler makes his much-anticipated return to Denver on Monday night. It’s a matchup that his former teammates are certainly ready for.
Denver Broncos players reportedly said that they want to kill their former teammate on the field. Osweiler heard such reports and had a lighthearted response to them.
“It sounds like they miss me,” Osweiler said, per the Houston Chronicle.
The 6-foot-8 signal caller shunned Denver during the offseason and signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Houston Texans. Osweiler realizes that his departure from the Broncos irked the organization and makes his return to Mile High enticing.
“I’m not blind to that,” the quarterback admitted. “It’s about removing outside distractions.”
The Arizona State product has been erratic in his first six games with the Texans. Osweiler is averaging just 216.5 yards per contest and has thrown eight interceptions to go with eight touchdown passes. Through six games he ranks 29th in the league with a 74.1 passer rating.
Despite is less than stellar start, Houston is first in the AFC South at 4-2. The fifth-year QB’s play hasn’t led to the downfall of the Texans. He’s hoping that he performance this week in a familiar environment will be a catalyst to a Texans victory.
