Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith left Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after taking a hard shot to the head.
Smith slid at the end of a run but took a huge hit on the way down. He stayed down on the field, and when helped up by a teammate, he stumbled around and it was clear he was feeling the effects of the hit. He eventually went to the locker room and is being evaluated for a concussion.
Below is the hit on Smith:
Smith left the game early in the first quarter. It’s a hugely important game for the Chiefs, who sit at 4-2 on the season in a very tough AFC West division where they have to watch out for every other team in the division. The Colts took a 3-4 record going into the game, but a dangerous offense that would be hard to keep up with for the Chiefs.
