Jeremy Maclin was unexpectedly absent from Chiefs practice on Thursday, but it sounds as though there is nothing to worry about. Reports are the Pro Bowl wideout should be good to go for Kansas City’s Week 2 matchup against the Texans.
According to Adam Teicher for ESPN.com, Maclin missed practice not because of any injury, but because of a personal matter. He is expected back on the field on Friday, and it doesn’t sound like there’s any reason to suspect he’s in jeopardy of missing the game.
And while Maclin was tending to personal matters, the Chiefs received reinforcements in the form of Spencer Ware. Teicher notes that Ware returned to practice after missing on Wednesday with a toe injury.
While Maclin’s and Ware’s availability on Sunday should come as good news for fantasy owners, their presence could provide a big boost against a tough Texans opponent. Last season, Kansas City dispatched of Houston easily in the playoffs, but with Brock Osweiler under center, it’s like a completely different team.
As it turned out, the Chiefs needed all the firepower disposal in Week 1 for their come-from-behind victory over their AFC West rival Chargers. Maclin caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown, while Ware racked up 199 total yards from scrimmage and found the end zone once.
