The Kansas City Chiefs defense will be getting back to its normal ferocity in the near future.
Star linebacker Tamba Hali has been activated off the physically unable to perform list, according to the Kansas City Star’s Terez A. Paylor.
Hali will begin practicing on a limited basis this week. The 11th-year linebacker underwent a knee scope during the offseason after earning a three-year, $22 million contract extension in March.
Preserving Hali is one of Kansas City’s top priorities. The 32-year-old sack master recorded 48 tackles and a respectable 6.5 sacks in 15 games last season.
A healthy Hali goes a long way for the Chiefs, who ranked fourth in the NFL last season with 47 sacks.
