Think Los Angeles is happy to have professional football back?
L.A. serenaded the Rams with the largest crowd to watch a preseason football game in U.S. history back in August at the Memorial Coliseum. Nearly 90,000 fans were in attendance to watch the Rams defeat Dallas 28-24 in their preseason opener.
The Rams will begin the regular season away from Los Angeles in San Francisco on Monday night. But the trip to the Bay Area for Week 1 didn’t stop the team from hosting a tailgate party in L.A. to kick off the regular season on Wednesday.
“It’s always a blessing to get to interact with a new fanbase in Los Angeles. We are always trying to expand our reach,” Rams punter John Hekker told ABC 7 in Los Angeles.
Hekker and Rams tight end Cory Harkey were in attendance signing autographs and playing games with fans.
“We’re pumped. We’re excited. Monday Night Football man, there’s nothing like it,” Harkey said.
