Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore says he was fine after taking big hit
Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore took a hard shot in the second quarter of the Dolphins’ wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree drilled him right under the facemask and put him out of the game for a play. Moore said he is fine, and did not suffer a head injury.
“I knew I was fine,” Moore said to the media via The Associated Press’ Will Graves. “The test, whatever was coming, wasn’t going to be an issue, so I figured I was coming back in as soon as that was done.”
It wasn’t a direct head shot, but it looked bad at every angle. He sat on the ground for a while after the play, but walked off of the field under his own power. Dupree was called for a roughing-the-passer penalty.
The Dolphins kicked a field goal on that drive, but couldn’t put the ball in the end zone until the game was out of reach. They lost to the Steelers 30-12.
