Tony Lippett went all the way upstairs against the Tennessee Titans in the Miami Dolphins fourth preseason game. The second-year cornerback got full extension when snatched a pass out of the air from Titans quarterback Alex Tanney.
He jumped so high he couldn’t keep his footing and fell into a backwards somersault. Lippett got up and realized that he had not been tackled so he took off, and ran the ball 15 yards into Titans territory.
That was the first of two picks thrown by Tanney so far in the first half.
Lippet was a fifth-round pick for the Dolphins in 2015 out of Michigan State where he was a first-team all-big ten wide receiver.
He played in nine regular season games for Miami last season in which he recorded nine tackles and broke up one pass.
