The Miami Dolphins won’t have center Mike Pouncey this Sunday when they travel to play division rival New England.
According to a report from the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguerro, Pouncey will miss Sunday’s showdown with the Patriots as he continues to recover from a hip fracture sustained in mid-August.
Pouncey’s injury occurred Aug. 19 and the center has been week-to-week ever since. There was a chance he was going to play during the team’s season opener against Seattle, but it was clear the injury needed more time to recover.
Salguerro believes a more accurate timetable for Pouncey’s return would be in roughly three weeks. The problem is Pouncey might miss three games: Sunday at New England, the team’s home opener against Cleveland next Sunday and then a Thursday night matchup Sept. 29.
If that’s the case, his next opportunity to return would be Oct. 9 against Tennessee.
