After thrashing the Cleveland Browns, 33-13, the New England Patriots are favored against Ohio’s other NFL team.
The Patriots opened as 6.5-point home favorites for Sunday afternoon’s contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. That line quickly jumped to as high as nine points in some sportsbooks shortly after being released.
New England is on the second leg of the Tom Brady revenge tour after the legendary quarterback destroyed the Browns in his first game back from his “Deflategate” suspension. Brady threw for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns during the victory. The Patriots kicked off as an 11-point favorite against the winless Browns and covered comfortably.
The Bengals have been one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments at 2-3. Cincinnati is coming off of an ugly loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Patriots are also 4-1 against the spread, with the lone loss coming in a 16-0 defeat at home against the Buffalo Bills. Cincinnati is 1-3-1 against the spread with its lone cover coming against the lowly Miami Dolphins at home two weeks ago.
