Less than 24 hours later, the Patriots are a 7.5-point favorite in Pittsburgh on Sunday. More than a touchdown swing the other way due to Roethlisberger’s torn left meniscus.
Without Big Ben in the lineup, Pittsburgh’s offensive production drops off dramatically.
Landry Jones will likely fill in as Roethlisberger’s replaced. The fourth-year QB put up a pedestrian 58.2 completion rate and 77.3 passer rating in limited action last year.
Meanwhile, the Patriots are steamrolling opponents. Tom Brady and company cruised by the Cincinnati Bengals 35-17 in Week 6. Brady has played exceptionally coming off of suspension. The quarterback has thrown for 782 yards and 6 touchdowns in his first two games.
