New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick isn’t really the most garrulous of high-profile NFL personnel. The coach’s press conferences usually last around 10-15 minutes. He’s always complimentary of opponents, offering leveled appreciation of their schemes and skill players. He doesn’t entertain much extra curricular activity outside of answering each question and moving forward.
Belichick took a different approach Friday afternoon, using his 9:15 a.m. presser to deliver an epic, 30-minute media availability.
The coach actually shrugged off Patriots media relations to prolong his press conference.

NESN’s Doug Kyed was kind enough to transcribe Belichick’s entire lecture about the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was in rare form all morning, referencing Bill Russell, Mick Jagger and Lou Gehrig.
