Bill Belichick announced the birth of his first grandchild on his Tuesday morning conference call, days after struggling with technology like most grandfathers do. The New England Patriots’ headsets apparently were not working during their 35-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
“Both offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia were left signaling in plays after the coach-player communication system proved so unreliable the team stopped banking on it to be of any use,” CSN New England’s Tom. E. Curran wrote after the game.
The Patriots’ tablets also went out on the sidelines during the second quarter of their AFC Championship loss in Denver this past January. Belichick sounded off on his team’s technological issues.

On the bright side, New England remains the lone one-loss team in the AFC.
