With Tom Brady back under center, the New England Patriots have burst out to a 5-1 start to the season, hold a one-game lead over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East and remain the lone one-loss team in the AFC.
The Patriots’ 17th-year quarterback has been scorching hot since returning from his season-opening four-game suspension. Brady has completed 57-of-75 passes for 782 yards, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions in his two games back from the sidelines. Well actually, he wasn’t even allowed to visit the Patriots facilities.
Despite those conditions, he certainly hasn’t looked rusty. And as a result, Las Vegas has taken notice. Bovada officially deemed Brady the odds-on favorite to win the NFL’s MVP award on Wednesday. Brady rose to 5/2 odds for the coveted accolade. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is currently second with 15/2 odds, followed by both Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot and Russell Wilson at 8/1.
Bovada listed the Patriots as favorites to win the Super Bowl as last week, giving New England 7/2 odds to claim the Vince Lombardi trophy. This week, the casino has elevated the Patriots to 3/1 odds. The next closest team is the Minnesota Vikings at 7/1. The Steelers have the second-highest odds of any AFC team at 12/1.
