Tom Brady has many traits that make him one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Speed is not one of those attributes.
Don’t tell Brady’s mother that.
The New England Patriots quarterback said Wednesday his mother has always believed that he’s the fastest player on the field, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI.
To the surprise of many, except Brady’s mother, the veteran quarterback has used his legs to scamper for some first downs this season. The 17-year quarterback has an astonishing, by his standards, 9 rushes for 29 yards through three games. A rushing rate of 3.2 yards per clip.
Brady has a decent shot at breaking his single-season rushing record of 110 yards that he accomplished in 2002. He’s had three 100-yards rushing seasons in his career.
Now we won’t start calling him Mike Vick. Nevertheless, the quarterback has come a long way since running a 5.28 40-yard dash time at the 2000 NFL Scouting Combine.
