The New England Patriots made Eric Rowe active over top draft pick, rookie corner back Cyrus Jones on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even further, head coach Bill Belichick elevated Rowe to the Patriots’ starting lineup.

Rowe performed well in his first action for the Patriots last week in the team’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He helped limit pro bowl wideout A.J. Green to just 2 catches for 32 yards after Rowe spent more time on him following the intermission.
Rowe came up clutch with a pass breakup against Green in the fourth quarter, preventing a touchdown in the left corner of the end zone as the Bengals faced third-and-2 from the Patriots 7-yard line.
Linebacker Jamie Collins (hip) is also in the Patriots’ defensive starting lineup after missing last week’s game.
