Former New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell burned his former team for a crucial touchdown at the start of the second half as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
LaFell, who also spent two seasons with New Orleans, beat cornerback Malcolm Butler handily with a single move in the end zone, and made a great catch to give the Bengals a touchdown and the lead in the third quarter.
As you can see, Butler has no shot of stopping this one, which is also very well thrown by quarterback Andy Dalton.
LaFell is notable for catching a career-high 74 passes with the Patriots in a Super Bowl-winning season, but also for struggling the next season and eventually being cut with a year remaining on his contract. LaFell, 29, had 74 catches for 953 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2014, but had just 515 yards with no touchdowns with the Patriots in 2015.
This is LaFell’s first season with the Bengals. He went into Sunday’s game with a pair of touchdowns and 276 yards receiving.
